Dear students of the Faculty of Engineering, City University,
It gives me great pleasure to extend my warmest congratulations to you all on the commencement of the new academic year, wishing you continued success and excellence. I also warmly welcome our new students to this distinguished academic institution, hoping that you will all achieve the desired objectives both academically and professionally. This requires your full commitment and diligence in attending lectures, theoretical classes, and laboratory sessions, as well as your determination to acquire comprehensive scientific knowledge from diverse sources, enabling you to gain the useful expertise that will allow you to accomplish your life goals, lead the scientific progress, and participate actively and effectively in the development of our beloved Egypt.
The mission of the Faculty is to graduate distinguished engineers capable of competing in the local, regional, and global labor markets, and fully able to assimilate advanced and modern technologies. This is achieved through the adoption of both national (NARS) and international (ARS) quality frameworks, in addition to others, across six unique and accredited academic programs:
Computer and Systems Engineering
Architecture and Urban Planning
Civil and Construction Engineering
Electronics and Communication Engineering
Sustainable Energy Engineering
Mechatronics Engineering
In line with scientific and global advancements, and in pursuit of the highest levels of excellence, the Faculty has adopted one of the most prominent and widely applied higher education systems—the Credit Hour System. This system grants students the freedom to select their courses and shape their academic pathways within each program. For example, within the Computer and Systems Engineering program, students may choose the Artificial Intelligence track entirely at their own discretion, thereby assuming responsibility for defining their own academic journey.
This process is carried out under the close academic supervision of distinguished professors across the various programs, ultimately producing graduates with outstanding expertise in their chosen specialization.
This is a noble goal that the Faculty Administration—represented by the Faculty Council, the Dean, the Vice-Deans, together with the Heads of Departments, faculty members, teaching assistants, and staff—strives collectively to achieve for the benefit of our students.
Furthermore, I urge all students, both new and continuing, to actively participate in student activities. Engagement in diverse extracurricular activities—cultural, athletic, artistic, social, scientific, scouting, and student associations—enhances personal development, distinction, and creativity, while broadening intellectual and cultural horizons and fostering interaction with others. These qualities are essential for any distinguished engineer.
Finally, I would like to emphasize that my office, as well as those of the faculty members, are always open to you. We are here to provide you with all possible support and assistance. I sincerely wish you an enriching and successful university life, with continuous academic and professional achievements that will contribute to the progress and prosperity of our beloved homeland, Egypt.
With best regards and wishes for success,
