City University Of Cairo - Capital of science and knowledge
Program Description
The Computer and Systems Engineering Program is where engineering, hardware, software, and information merge together to prepare the computer and systems engineer of the future.
Career Prospects
Computer and systems engineering is currently considered one of the fastest developing and widespread engineering disciplines in the world, especially with major developments in a large number of fields such as:
• The field of software development, mobile applications, and smart systems.
• The field of communications and Internet services.
• Research and development in artificial intelligence, deep learning, and Internet of Things technologies.
• Cybersecurity and information protection field.
• Industrial enterprises and robotics.
• The field of autonomous vehicles, VLSI systems design (very large-scale integration).
• Government sector and educational institutions.
Graduates of this department enjoy wide job opportunities and increasing demand from various industries and companies, not only in Egypt but also globally. There is a growing need for computer and systems engineers in many fields, such as embedded systems, hardware design, networking, information security, intelligent systems, and software development. Graduates can also specialize in one of the following precise fields: computer design, computer software, computer networks and security, or systems and artificial intelligence.
Program Concentration
The program qualifies graduates to work as computer and systems engineers. The graduate can be specialized in one of the following four concentrations:
1. Computer Software
2. Computer Networks
3. Systems and Artificial Intelligence
4. Quantum Computing
Computer Software: This track prepares the graduate to work as a software engineer in different disciplines, and it focuses on the engineering part of software development and management.
Computer Networks: The graduate will be able to design, inspect, and operate different types of data and telecommunication networks. The graduate is also involved in the fields of security, forensics, and the Internet of Things.
Systems and Artificial Intelligence: The graduate will be prepared with the necessary competencies to work as a system engineer, including automation, multimedia, and artificial intelligence.
Quantum Computing: The graduate will be prepared with the necessary competencies to design algorithms that leverage quantum parallelism to solve complex problems faster than classical algorithms.
