Definition:
The University of Buenos Aires (UBA) was established in 1821 and is one of the most important public institutions of higher education in Latin America. It is a national and international reference center for education, vocational training, research, and academic guidance. It comprises several colleges, including Art and Design, Agriculture and Law, Engineering, Pharmacy, Economics, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, Veterinary Sciences, Medicine, Dentistry, and Psychology. Five of its alumni have received Nobel Prizes, with two receiving the Nobel Peace Prize, two receiving the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, and one receiving the Nobel Prize in Chemistry.
World University Rankings:
UBA is ranked 73rd globally according to the QS ranking. It is ranked 8th in Latin America. The Arts and Design program is ranked 18th globally.
Collaboration between the two universities:
A letter of intent for collaboration was obtained, approving cooperation with City University of Cairo, signed by the Secretary of International Cooperation at the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina, School of Architecture, Urban Planning, and Design. Three agreements were concluded for scientific collaboration, student and faculty exchange. They were signed by the dean of the School of Architecture, Urban Planning, and Design at the University of Buenos Aires in both English and Spanish. The agreement is currently being reviewed for approval by the university's international cooperation officials and then by the council.
