Cooperation Protocol between Ain Shams University and City University of Cairo

Today, the Palace of Zaafaran, the headquarters of Ain Shams University, witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement between Ain Shams University, headed by Prof. Abdel-Wahab Ezzat, the university president, and City University of Cairo, which is an under-construction university. The agreement aims to establish the foundations of cooperation between the two parties to contribute to the development of the university education level by providing distinguished academic programs and educational services. The protocol stipulates that Ain Shams University supervises the design and description of curricula and courses taught at the colleges of City University. It also includes assisting in the development of the capabilities of college members and the supporting staff at City University through utilizing the resources and expertise of the Training and Development Center at Ain Shams University. Additionally, it involves benefiting from the experiences of Ain Shams University in developing plans for sending faculty members and the supporting staff of City University on scholarships, joint supervision of master's and doctoral theses and professional diplomas for postgraduate students at City University. The agreement also includes organizing scientific conferences, seminars, and joint workshops between the two parties, encouraging collaborative research, promoting international publications for researchers in both parties, designing joint academic degrees, and encouraging student exchange. Furthermore, it involves benefiting from the expertise of Ain Shams University in reviewing, implementing, and designing the quality of the educational process, as well as the standards and procedures for appointing faculty members and the supporting staff. It is worth mentioning that City University is subject to the provisions of the Private and Non-Profit Universities Law in Egypt and has obtained approval for its establishment from the Minister of Higher Education on March 17, 2014, followed by the approval of the Cabinet on March 27, 2014. The signing of the protocol was attended by Dr. Sherif Hamad, the former Minister of Scientific Research, Dr. Mahmoud Abu El-Nasr, the former Minister of Education, Dr. Salwa Mohamed Abdel-Baqi, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Higher Institute of Tourism and Hotels 6th of October, Mr. Tarek Marwan, and Mr. Amr Marwan, members of the founders' group of City University of Cairo.
