The Departments of the School of Economics & Administrative Sciences are mentioned as follows:

  • The Department of Economics
This Department defines Economics as a social science studying how to use the limited sources of production in a society, in order to satisfy the unlimited needs of the society members.  Economics is also a science that has its own stable laws unless it is influenced to some extent by the social and political conditions.  As a result of such combination, it is meant to become a social science including production analysis, distribution, trading and the consumption of goods & services.

This Department is characterized by two main branches as follows:
1- Microeconomics: It examines the economics of individuals, the household sector and the trading businesses.
2- Macroeconomics (large economies): It examines the national economy, supply & demand and the capitals.

Each of these two branches can be partitioned into many subcategories.  The economists often apply both prices and supply & demand to create economic models of some expected results coming out of decisions and events.

  • The Department of Administrative Sciences
This Department defines Administrative Sciences as the leading and guiding tools needed for an entire organization or partly in an organizational unit.  The Administrative Sciences use the available resources of the capital, materials, manpower and experience.  In the past, the Administrative Sciences had been defined as the art of objectives execution or the art of achieving goals for the sake of human beings.
The Administrative Sciences process comprises five main elements: planning, organization, leadership, coordination and control.  Although Administrative Sciences are considered these days as social sciences related to labor tasks, they are still the most important and activated sciences in human life. They have become the most significant elements whether for the achievement of success or in cases of facing problems, in accordance with their professionalism in dealing with competent & accurate knowledge and by using the modern methods at work.
The comparison factor usually performed among institutions, systems and societies is mainly based on their administrative successes, while referring the cases of failure to achieve goals or solve problems among them to the lack of modern administrative basics.

  • The Department of Finance
This Department defines Finance as the science dealing with monetary and fund issues in business communities.
The financial study or financing is used by individuals, organizations and business units for a perfect identification, distribution and reasonable usage of resources within a specific period of time, taking into account the risks they may encounter in the business.  The study comprises monetary aspects, managing & controlling assets, defining projects feasibility study and finding the optimum method of funding projects.
