Essam El Din Khalil


  • Full Professor Mechanical Engineering Department - Faculty of Engineering - University of Cairo,
  • former vice president of the American Institute for Aerospace Engineering (AIAA)
  • General Manager and Board Member of the American Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers Association.

 

He graduated from the Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University, Department of Mechanical Engineering, with a distinction of excellence with first honors in July 1971. He received a Master of Mechanical Engineering from the same university in December, then a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering in March 1977 from Imperial College of Science and Technology - University of London.

 

He graduated from the position of lecturer and part-time professor at Mechanical Engineering Department at the Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University.

 

 Participated in many national and international committees such as: Energy Committee - Higher Council of Universities, National Commission for Desalination Water - Scientific Research Academy, Committee on Agriculture Mechanism - Agriculture and Food Research Council, and the Standing Committee of the Egyptian and Arab Code, . He served as an engineering consultant to many bodies such as the Egyptian People's Assembly, the National Defense Council and the Ministry of Health.

He has received numerous international awards, most notably the American Society of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers Award for Extraordinary Services in 2017. He has also received numerous local awards, including the State Encouragement Award for Engineering Sciences, the First Class Science and Arts Award, Egyptian Engineering Pioneers.

He is a member of many scientific societies and societies. He is also a member of several scientific societies such as the Society of Egyptian Mechanical Engineers, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, ASHRAE and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Space Engineering (AIAA). He is also a member of a number of engineering associations, The Egyptian Engineers Association, the British Society of Mechanical Engineers, the International Computational Society, and the Egyptian Scientific Society.
